Transforming Pipeline Infrastructure: Purapipe and Partners Launch Next-Generation Intelligent Pipeline Solutions

At the kickoff of their strategic collaboration, Purapipe, HAWK Measurement Systems, Simulation Software Limited (SSL), and NovaTech Industrial Equipment Trading LLC joined forces to set a new standard for global pipeline infrastructure. Together, the partners are delivering a unique combination of advanced manufacturing, real-time monitoring, digital intelligence, and regional market reach to the water, oil, and gas sectors worldwide.

At the center of this collaboration is Purapipe’s Mobile Pipeline Production Unit (MPPU) a modular, mobile manufacturing platform enabling on-site production and immediate installation of composite pipelines directly into open-trench projects.

“Our technology transforms pipelines from simple transport assets into intelligent, data-driven infrastructure,” says Arvid Ophaug, Founder & Vice-Chairman of Purapipe. “But it is the partnership with HAWK, SSL, and NovaTech that allows us to deliver these capabilities seamlessly to customers across global markets.”

Building smarter, safer pipelines

Purapipe’s innovation integrates automation, robotics, and real-time quality assurance directly into the manufacturing process. Every pipe undergoes a 360° digital X-ray inspection, detecting even microscopic faults, while all production data is captured fofull traceability and compliance.

This cutting-edge approach ensures pipelines are not only corrosion-free and multi-layered for strength but also come equipped with embedded fiber-optic sensing systems, enabling continuous monitoring throughout the pipeline’s lifecycle.

According to Les Richards, CEO of HAWK Measurement Systems, which provides the fiber sensing technologies:
“Our fiber-optic solutions have protected critical infrastructure worldwide. Integrated with Purapipe’s on-site production, we can now deliver real-time leak detection as part of a fully connected pipeline system.”

Turning data into actionable insights

While HAWK adds sensing capabilities, SSL contributes the software intelligence to transform operational data into actionable insights.

“By combining on-site manufacturing data with embedded sensor information,” explains Jonathan Theakston, Operations Director from SSL, “we enable operators to move from reactive maintenance to predictive planning. This reduces downtime, operational costs, and environmental risks.”

Each pipeline receives a digital twin, storing its precise layout, condition, and performance data. Over its lifecycle, operators can access real-time information on flow rates, pressure, temperature, and strain, enabling early detection of anomalies and preventing failures before they happen.

Integrating leak detection for complete solutions

NovaTech plays a crucial role as the leak detection integrator, combining HAWK’s sensing technologies and SSL’s software into one seamless solution.

“Our role is to make sure technology partnerships translate into real-world solutions,” notes Jamal Zaher, Managing Director from NovaTech. “We help customers access these innovations quickly, reliably, and at scale.”

A new benchmark for the industry

By combining Purapipe’s on-site pipe manufacturing and automation, HAWK’s sensing technology, SSL’s analytics, and NovaTech’s regional customer engagement, this collaboration creates intelligent, sustainable, and cost-efficient pipelines.

As Jesper Steen, CEO of Purapipe concludes: “This partnership is about more than technology. It’s about solving the toughest challenges in pipeline infrastructure: safety, cost, and sustainability through innovation and collaboration.”
